Just yesterday I bought the complete "The Settlers" remake from Ubisoft. What sounds really bad at first because there are so many remakes to play turned out to be a great gaming experience.
Ubisoft is doing it right!
Many remakes come with completely reworked content, but is that what gamer really wants?
Not in my eyes. We loved the old game mechanics somewhere and Ubisoft does it right and does not change the game itself. A remake of how it should be with graphical enhancements and support for the newer Windows systems. That's the way it has to be!
What other game makers can learn from this?
If a remake is planned the games should not be overloaded with new stuff. To keep the old game mechanics! That's what the gamer loved so much.
